Juan Pablo is a 2-year old Boston terrier/cattle dog mix who originally hails from West Virginia.  He was found as a stray and is sweet as can be.  He has had a pronounced limp since arriving at Homeward Trails.  In order to determine the cause of his limp, X-rays were preformed and what was discovered was inconclusive.  There were thoughts from the Veterinary Orthopedist that Juan Pablo may have cancer in his hip but that appears to not be the case which is great news!

The bad news is he will still need to undergo orthopedic FHO surgery to repair what is thought to be hip dysplasia in order to make Juan Pablo as comfortable and happy as we can!  And for a dog who loves to run and play as much as this one does, you know this is super important!

An FHO, or femoral head ostectomy, is a surgical procedure that aims to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip, by removing the head and neck of the femur.
