You are the Key to Help End Domestic Violence

As many of you know, I serve on the board of Next Door Solutions, a non profit with a mission to help those (mostly) women and children who are the victims of domestic violence. I hear so many stories of brave survivors who leave their spouses, often with nothing more than the clothes on their backs and fear of violent retribution against them and their children. I am compelled to help in any way I can.

Every year the board champions a cause for our fund raising and this year we are focused on our Crisis Services. Why? It seems that the need is greater than ever. Our lobby is full. Our Support Groups are overflowing. There is more visibility in the press around the issue, bringing more women to us.  Unfortunately more visibility hasn’t resulted in more government funding. 

How does Next Door help? We have a multilingual 24/7 Shelter & Hotline Services 365 days a year. We have the only walk-in crisis center available in Santa Clara County, also multilingual. Clients have access to legal advocacy, Safety Planning and risk assessment. The most dangerous time for a victim is just after they leave.
