AGORA Ministries

Right now, inner-city youth in San Antonio are growing up without mentors to guide them. Many don’t have an older voice reminding them they matter, or pointing them toward a future filled with hope. Without support, too many fall into cycles of poverty, brokenness, and addiction.

AGORA’s youth mentoring program steps into that gap. Each mentoring interaction gives a student time with a caring mentor who listens, encourages, and points them to Jesus. It’s simple, but personal and powerful.

It only takes $21.72 to provide one youth mentoring interaction for a student. Or, a gift of $47,990.34 ensures every remaining mentoring interaction this semester is fully funded. And thanks to a $5,000 matching grant, every gift given on Big Give Day (September 17-18th) will be doubled until the match is met. That means your impact goes twice as far in telling a student, “You matter, Christ has a plan for you, and I believe in you.”

The semester has already begun, and students are waiting. Each week that passes is one more missed opportunity if we don’t step in now. And with the matching funds available, every gift made  on September 17-18th counts for double. How many student will you be a hero to and provide support to — one, ten, a hundred, or even an entire semester’s worth?

Who We Are

AGORA Ministries exists to encourage, empower, educate, and mentor families, children, and "at risk" youth in our area. AGORA is located in the 78207 zip code, Westside, of San Antonio. Our area is the lowest income, lowest fed, highest violent crime area of San Antonio, TX.

ENCOURAGE- Through the love of Christ expressed through our staff and volunteers we will encourage our students and families to success.
EMPOWER- Through inspiration and training we will give our students and families the tools they need for success.
EDUCATE- We will help our students reach academic success through our education programs, tutoring, and constant encouraging to succeed academically.
MENTOR- Through strong intentional relationships, our students and families will achieve new heights.
