Artichoke Dance offers unique public performances, educational, and community building experiences. Through the interactive nature of dance and other art forms, we help people become more physically, socially, and environmentally conscious and active. Our cross-medium collaborations entertain, educate, and empower our audiences and constituents to create positive changes in their lives and communities.

Environmental justice, the right for everyone to a safe and healthy environment in which to live, work, learn and play, guides how we carry out our mission. Though this definition focuses on the physical aspects of the environment, we extended it to the social and emotional spaces in which we work: honoring and celebrating individual differences and backgrounds while working to build interconnected and resilient communities. 

We create visions of reimagining possibility, finding repeatedly that interconnectivity and interdependence are critical for resilience. Through our performances, workshops, educational programs, collaborative and activist practices, we connect people to place and each other, create equitable visions of a brighter future and inspire action toward the creation of that future.
