Our mission

Cancer Bridges' mission is to support all those impacted by cancer through a variety of free programs and services.

Who we serve

No one should face cancer alone. That's why our goal is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for everyone who has been impacted by cancer, including those with a cancer diagnosis, those who have a loved one with cancer, and those who have experienced the loss of a loved one due to cancer.

The diagnosed, their family, friends, and caregivers who support them are all welcome to join Cancer Bridges and receive the social, emotional, and informational tools they need at no cost.

Your impact

Your generous support funds nearly 200 free programs and services each month that improve the emotional, social, and physical health of those facing cancer, including:

    • Short-Term Supportive Counseling
    • Educational panels and courses
    • Creative Expression
    • Health and Wellness
    • Social Activities
    • Family & Youth

In addition, Cancer Bridges facilitates evidence-based, and cancer-specific programs designed to meet the unique needs of our members:

    • Living Life Post Cancer Treatment®
    • Happy Feet
    • Moving through Grief
    • Let's Get Moving

Our history

Cancer Caring Center was established in 1988, dedicated to providing free emotional support to cancer survivors, their friends and loved ones. Our Clubhouse was established in 2006 as Gilda’s Club of Western Pennsylvania. In 2014, Our Clubhouse became an independent nonprofit in order to remain focused on our mission to offer free social, emotional and wellness support to those in our region touched by cancer.

In 2021, Cancer Caring Center and Our Clubhouse joined to become Cancer Bridges.
