Village Disciple Center is a gospel-centered church and community anchor in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas. We are built on four pillars: Give. Serve. Love. Grow. And we mean all four of them. Our declaration says it plainly: Everyone invited. Everyone growing. Everyone sent. That is not a slogan. It is how we operate every single day.

We sit on a 9-acre campus at 4353 S. Hampton Road in the heart of the 75232 zip code, one of the most underserved and underinvested communities in Dallas. We did not move here. We are from here. This neighborhood shaped us, and we are committed to shaping it in return. The work we do is not charity from the outside. It is investment from within.

Our roots run deep. This ministry carries over 54 years of institutional history in this community, originally established as David's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. When we replanted as Village Disciple Center, we did not start over. We built on what was already here: the trust, the legacy, the relationships. And we took it further. We are a church that takes the gospel seriously and takes our zip code just as seriously.

WHAT WE DO

The Circle @ VDC is our youth discipleship pathway, designed to meet young people where they are and walk with them all the way through. Circle Kids, Circle Students, Circle Collective, and Circle Leaders create a full pathway from childhood through young adulthood. We do not run a drop-in youth program. We build a life-shaping community.

Our Code Matters is our after-school coding program and summer technology camp for underrepresented youth in Oak Cliff and South Dallas. In a world where the digital divide determines economic outcomes, we are putting technology in the hands of kids who deserve access, not excuses. Every young person who walks through Our Code Matters leaves with real skills and real confidence.

Planted Hope Community Garden is our community farm and food access initiative, operating on our campus and honoring the legacy of the late Reverend Joseph E. Roberson. We grow food, we host a monthly Farmers Market, and we work to make fresh, healthy food available to families who face real barriers to accessing it. Health is not a luxury. We treat it like a right.

Light The Night is our annual violence prevention event, a safe and family-centered alternative to Halloween that brings hundreds of Oak Cliff families together for celebration instead of fear. It is one of the most visible expressions of who we are as a community.

We also partner with Dallas City Council District 3, Dallas Police Department, Dallas Fire and Rescue, Texas Baptists, and other community organizations to make sure the work we do is connected to the broader systems that shape life in our neighborhood.

WHY YOUR GIFT MATTERS TODAY

Oak Cliff is a community full of strength, creativity, and resilience. It is also a community that has been under-resourced for decades. The families here are not waiting to be saved. They are working, building, raising children, and holding things together with less than they deserve.

Your gift to Village Disciple Center on North Texas Giving Day goes directly into this community. It funds programs that keep kids learning, families fed, and neighborhoods safer. It sustains a ministry that has been showing up in this zip code for over half a century and is not going anywhere.

We are not just running programs. We are building a village. And every gift, at every level, is part of that.

Give today. Give boldly. The village is worth it.
