The Florida Trail Association (FTA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to developing, maintaining, protecting, and promoting Florida’s hiking trails, including the iconic Florida National Scenic Trail, lovingly known as the “Florida Trail.”

Our vision is simple but powerful: to protect Florida’s natural, cultural, and historic landscapes for future generations by creating a continuous trail system built by and for the people of Florida. We achieve this by offering volunteer, recreational, and educational opportunities that open the outdoors to everyone through our 19 chapters covering the entire state of Florida.

Our Impact

Over the past three years, the FTA has touched nearly every county in the state:

• 100,000+ volunteer hours contributed through 19 chapters across Florida
• 300+ educational and guided events connecting people to trails and outdoor recreation
• 15 Wilderness First Aid classes, equipping trail users with lifesaving skills
• 20+ webinars educating and inspiring people to explore the outdoors
• 400,000+ trail users annually experiencing the Florida Trail
