Goffstown Public Library Foundation

The Goffstown Public Library Foundation is grateful for your interest in us during NH Gives 2026. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 2020 to raise funds to support the capital needs of the Goffstown Public Library. Built in 1909 in the Classical Revival style, the building retains its original size and most of its architectural details while serving as a cornerstone of the town, a vibrant community hub, and a source of diverse and valued information resources. Specifically, we're continuing our Seal the Deal campaign this year and we've moved on to Chapter 2.* And what is the theme of this Chapter 2? It's all about sealing the exterior of the building and surviving New England weather. With your support, we are fundraising for repointing bricks, repainting the exterior trim, and replacing the exterior siding around the elevator, projects identified by the Library Board of Trustees as priorities. You know how it is with older buildings; this sort of maintenance must be attended to.  Will you help us seal the deal -- and the building -- this year?

With your donation, the Goffstown Public Library will continue to be a vibrant part of our community for many more years. Some funding sources have diminished with the decrease in federal grants, making our plea to our local donors even more important. *Chapter 1 (2025-2026) was all about helping the library achieve its historic window restoration goal. The Foundation has funded replacement storm windows for the 32 original wooden windows as well as the removal and rebuilding of bookcases on the second floor to complement rather than cover up the historic windows. The Library Board of Trustees was awarded New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP), supplementing support from the town, to reglaze and repair the windows. We'll see the results of this project over the coming year.
