Did you know?

Our organization is stabilizing your community through three important programs:

  • Our building program has provided housing for 447 people including 282 children in 117 Habitat homes.
  • Our Critical Home Repair Program (CHiRP) completes critical home repairs for low-income families. Many of these homes are making the occupants sick. A total of 1264 people in Salt Lake, Davis and Tooele Counties have benefitted from improved health including children, seniors and vets.
  • Habitat’s Service Team for Exterior Projects (S.T.E.P.), we bring people together to help our neighbors manage essential exterior maintenance. By mobilizing community volunteers, we partner with homeowners to ensure their homes remain safe and stable foundations for their families.
  • The Habitat for Humanity ReStore (a home improvement thrift store) keeps 391 tons of building materials out of the Salt Lake landfill each year and provides the public with an affordable solution for improving their homes.
  • Habitat Cares is our vital outreach program meeting the urgent needs of neighbors experiencing homelessness. By repurposing donations of non-perishable food, hygiene products, warm clothing, and camping supplies, we provide immediate relief. These essentials are distributed through local service agencies that provide direct street outreach, ensuring no neighbor is forgotten in the daily struggle to stay warm, fed, and safe.
  • Global Village is an immersive international service trip. It is your chance to build homes, improve water infrastructure, and engage with the international community while experiencing the heart of service.

Why Habitat for Humanity is a Good Community Investment:

  • Habitat for Humanity homes are community assets. When a home is dedicated to a family it triggers a mortgage that is repaid and invested back into the community. The asset continues to improve our Utah communities far into the future.
  • We have a very low rate of foreclosure and strive to educate our partner families in becoming exceptional homeowners.
  •  Many partner families have children that go to college, get degrees, and find themselves in a position of success.
