Sphinx Academy

Sphinx Academy was founded in 2013 as a microschool to serve twice exceptional youth. We started out in a 2500 square foot space with 8 students and one full time staff member and have expanded to a 9,400 square foot space which includes labs and a dedicated STEAM makerspace. We now have 25 students and 5 full time and a part time staff member. While we continue to primarily serve twice exceptional students, we now recognize the importance of including neurotypical students in our demographic. We believe that it takes all types of minds to solve the issues this generation faces and having a demographic in which people think differently and approach problems differently benefits all. 

We are fully accredited, which only 16% of microschools nationwide can say. We are also state certified. We work closely with our community, partnering with Newton's Attic, Smith Learning Services, BCTC, and the Chamber of Commerce among many others to help ensure our students are able to meet their goals and explore multiple areas of interest. 

We were able to establish a financial aid program two years ago and would love to continue to offer this to students who may not be able to attend Sphinx otherwise. We were also able to set up scholarships for dual credit courses to ensure cost was not a limiting factor for students eligible for dual credit and career and technical courses. We would love to be able to continue to offer these programs among many others to our students!
