AMEN House, Inc.

It has been a big year for AMEN House. We have moved our food pantry and thrift store from our Main Street home of 35 years to the corner of East Washington and Paris Pike. Our goal of moving to the new space included strengthening our current services and growing to create a soup kitchen. Russ’ Kitchen is our next big step in ending hunger. With the help of a private donor, we have opened a beautiful, restaurant-style space that we hope to fill with the aromas of home-cooked food mingled with conversations and community. A space where a mom could bring her 5 year old and they would have no reason to think it is not just a regular restaurant.

Looking ahead to 2026, the AMEN House needs you more than ever. We need help restocking our food pantry after all the challenges we faced in November. This Bluegrass Gives day is the perfect time to help us end hunger in Scott County.

Who We Are

VISION

We envision a hunger free Scott County where food rescue is second nature to every grocery, restaurant, farmer and gardener; where local businesses, churches, organizations and families fight hunger by sharing their resources through food or cash donations. As we meet the most basic need for food, we are listening to the families we serve and connecting them to other in-house programs and community partners, working together to offer opportunities for our clients to move from poverty to self-sustainability.
