Brooklyn Chapter of the National Association of Black Military Women

A nonprofit organization

The mission of the Brooklyn Chapter is driven by acts of community service and the socialization/comradery of active duty and retired service members from all branches. We work to preserve and amplify the participation of the females within the African diaspora, representing the United States military.

The Brooklyn Chapter participates in various community events and Military celebrations.  Later in December 2024, the Brooklyn Chapter will participate in a viewing of Tyler Perrys 6888.  On December 14th, we will participate in Wreaths Across America.

On Veterans Day 2024, we provided members with limited mobility an opportunity to participate in the NYC Veterans Day Parade, via our open air bus hosted by Big Bus Tours.   We also participated in Fort Hamiltons Veterans Day Breakfast, their turkey give away with the Blue Star Families, and helped to pack over 1000 meal kits for Hello Fresh food donation giveaway.  For Breast Cancer Awareness Month members also participated in the American Cancer Society's Brooklyn Breast Cancer Walk and hosted a Women's Brunch to celebrate survivorship and provide Breast exam demonstrations.

NABMW Brooklyn Chapter, also hosts various socialization events that include health and wellness, bowling, painting and more. We encourage our members to be a proactive resource to one another and within the Veteran community.
