Who We Are

A home and a future for more than 75 years - Boys & Girls Haven is a private non-profit agency supporting youth and families in Kentucky through a multifaceted and comprehensive continuum of care. We are trauma-informed caretakers providing five core services - Residential Therapeutic Foster Care, Transitional Living Programs, Independence Readiness, Haven Family Counseling, and Animal-Assisted Healing. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services to shelter, heal, and empower youth while offering critical support to individuals and families. Our vision is to be a definitive leader and innovator in social services, and to strengthen and support children, young adults and families.

Strengthening Our Homes: Kitchen Renovation Initiative

Boys & Girls Haven is raising $55,000 to renovate a kitchen in one of the living spaces on our campus. These kitchens are the heart of our homes, places where youth share meals, build connections, and develop essential life skills like cooking, nutrition, and budgeting.

Many of these spaces have served generations of children and now require critical updates to improve safety, accessibility, and functionality. Your support will help create a warm, modern environment that fosters healing, independence, and a true sense of belonging. 

Renovations will include:

• Commercial-grade stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher
• Durable cabinetry, countertops, sinks, and faucets
• Updated flooring, painting, and baseboards
• Accessible, trauma-informed design to support inclusion and participation

Restoring these kitchens will:

• Create a nurturing, family-like environment
• Provide opportunities for youth to learn essential life skills such as cooking and teamwork
• Improve safety, efficiency, and long-term sustainability
• Reduce stress for residents and staff
• Reinforce dignity and a true sense of home for youth from across Kentucky’s 120 counties
