Cat Alliance Trinity

A nonprofit organization

Cat Alliance Trinity (CAT) is a non-profit organization and all-volunteer group of faculty, staff, students, and neighbors who care for the cats living on the Trinity campus. Our mission is to provide and maintain a safe and healthy environment for the cats with the help of the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program, as well as educate our community about TNR and other animal welfare issues. This benefits the campus and surrounding community by controlling the feral cat population in the most humane way possible, and providing a rich and rewarding community experience for all our members.

Trinity University was the first college campus in San Antonio to implement a Trap-Neuter-Return program for cats. Since our establishment in 2004, we have grown to be one of the most successful TNR programs in San Antonio with no cat population growth since 2008. Additionally, CAT has served as a mentor for programs at several other college campuses both in San Antonio and elsewhere We continue to perform community outreach to help others achieve their TNR goals.

This year marks our fourth year as a formally recognized student organization at Trinity, as well as our 21st anniversary helping stray and feral cats in our community. However, we still do not receive any operating funds from the university. The hard work of our volunteers combined with the charitable donations of supporters like you will allow us to continue our mission, and give us an opportunity to expand our program to include heated shelters and regular flea protection, as well as extending our outreach goals of educational seminars.

Please help us mark Year 21 as a banner year!

Who We Are

Cat Alliance Trinity began conducting TNR on the Trinity University campus in 2002, in order to care for the feral cats who live on the campus. Since then we have spayed/neutered more than 150 cats, found forever homes for over 75, and become a treasured part of the Trinity community. We currently care for 23 permanent feline residents, many of which are more than 15 years old. We are committed to their humane care throughout their lives, to educating our students and the broader San Antonio community about the benefits of TNR, and to providing an enriched experience in compassion for all who visit our campus.
