Who We Are

Since 2019, FEED has been working in partnership with God’s Pantry to provide weekend meals to students in need in Fayette County Public Schools. We operate in partnership with local churches, family resource coordinators, and volunteers to ensure that weekend food needs are fulfilled at each of our partner schools. Our long-term goal is to create a community of school personnel, parents, non-profit organizations, and advocates. Together, we can ensure that no student in Fayette County goes hungry when school is not in session.

Hunger negatively affects a child’s ability to thrive in every way. By fulfilling this basic need, we provide one building block in creating the circumstances and support needed for developing children to perform the most basic and important functions in their lives. Full bellies are the foundation for improving educational outcomes and providing appropriate scaffolding to address issues like mental health, family dynamics, and poverty.

Bags typically contain shelf-stable milk, fruit, vegetable, protein, grain, and various snacks. Bag items do vary by schools and by the needs of each student population. FEED also provides occasional emergency food assistance, hygiene products for student use, and snacks for after school programming when needed.

FEED is a 100% volunteer-run organization and will serve approximately 350 children during the 2026-2027 school year. All the children we serve are from low-income households and attend Title I schools.
