Goodwill Keystone Area

For 78 years, Goodwill Keystone has been guided by the belief that strong communities are built by investing in people. When individuals have access to the right tools, resources, and support, they gain the power to transform their own lives and uplift those around them.

Meet Kia

Like anyone else, Kia wanted the independence and pride that comes with having a job. But because she uses a wheelchair, many employers made assumptions about what she could do. At Goodwill Keystone, things were different: her dedication and skills were recognized. Today, Kia works full-time taking photos for driver’s licenses and IDs at the PennDOT Driver License Center in Lancaster through our workforce partnership. She’s a proud employee who loves her work, her team, and the career she has built for herself. Watch the video below to hear Kia's story, in her own words.

Your impact this year

Kia’s story reflects what’s possible when people’s abilities are recognized and barriers to employment are removed. Thanks to your generosity, people across our 22 counties are building skills, finding jobs, and growing their careers, many overcoming significant barriers like the ones Kia faced.

Our mission is powered by the goodwill of community members like you. Behind every item donated and every purchase made at our retail stores is a commitment to empowering our communities. When you donate, 100% of your gift stays right here in central and southeastern Pennsylvania, funding direct service programs like free financial literacy education, job training and placement, and our re-entry education program for individuals rebuilding their lives.

Your support also helped us continue our partnership with Reworld, making it easy to recycle electronics at our 45 retail and donation centers. Together, we’ve repurposed more than 1.9 million pounds of electronics.
