Haitian-American Community Coalition

A nonprofit organization

The holiday season is upon us, and while it is a time of joy and celebration for many, it can be a difficult time, especially for those who are experiencing homelessness. That's why HCC, which has been championing the well-being of Brooklynites for the last 40 years through empowerment, advocacy, health education, and supportive servicing, is requesting your assistance to provide resources for 50 unhoused individuals in our community.

We understand that homelessness is a multifaceted issue, and it requires more than just providing a roof over someone's head to enable them to stand on their own feet. Basic necessities such as food, clothing, and access to transportation services can be vital in aiding these individuals to get back on their feet and commence the journey toward a better life.

Our campaign goes beyond just providing basic needs. We recognize that every person's situation is distinct, so we are also dedicated to offering supportive services that aid in rebuilding their lives. Our organization has been providing these services for the past 40 years, and we have witnessed the positive impact they can have.

HCC believes everyone should have access to basic needs like food, shelter, and safety, regardless of their circumstances. Your contribution will ensure that these individuals have access to those necessities as well as the resources and support they need to rebuild their lives.

Please join us in our mission to help the more vulnerable in our community. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness in Brooklyn. Let's work towards a better future for all and help restore the hope and dignity of 50 of our community members.

Who We Are

In recent decades, the United States has experienced a significant increase in the number of immigrants from Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, as well as other Caribbean countries. For more than 35 years, HCC has provided continuous social support services, housing assistance, and linkage to healthcare and treatment for immigrants migrating from Haiti and other Caribbean countries who are impacted by the devastation of poverty, homelessness, HIV/AIDS, mental illness, and other hardships. HCC has helped over 17,000 immigrants and refugees through immigration filing assistance, English literacy programs, medical assistance, housing placement, health, wellness and fitness programs, HIV/AIDS and other disease prevention education, a variety of AIDS-related case management, mental health services, and substance use counseling- All of our support services are free to the community!

Many of our low-income and homeless community members rely on us to provide them with basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, however because of the language barrier, societal discrimination, limited resources and minimal funding support, it becomes very difficult for us to turn away people who desperately need our help and looking for a safe space.

YOUR HELP IS GREATLY NEEDED TO HELP HCC CONTINUE TO SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS AND REFUGEES WHO LIVE IN BROOKLYN'S AT-RISK COMMUNITIES. While we are actively creating more opportunities for French-Creole and Spanish speaking immigrants, we need your help to make our efforts go even further, and your support is crucial during these political times.

If you’re able, we’d love it if you could make a meaningful gift to help us achieve our mission, help us increase our outreach and diversify our programs and services.
