Afterschool is more than just babysitting - it is a chance to give children a new way to look at the world. By engaging their hearts and minds, the Imani House Afterschool Program provides Brooklyn youth with a new opportunity to grow - through our Dance, Science, Musical and Academic Activities.

For more than 25 years, Imani House has helped engage hundreds of Brooklyn youth through their afterschool programming in Park Slope. Through activities in Chess, Art, Archery, Dance, Music and more, each child is given the chance to see themselves in a different light and learn what they are capable of.

The confidence and skills that they gain from the Imani House Afterschool programming will always be with them and that is why your support is critical. If we can help these children to learn what they can accomplish now, no one will ever be able to tell them they can’t do something. 

Your donation will help us strengthen our services to meet the rapidly changing needs of our kids. Now more than ever, we must find ways to help our children become lifelong achievers, that starts now in a space that is dedicated to their wellbeing and growth.

The Imani House mission is " To Assist Marginalized Youth, Families & Immigrants to Create Vibrant Neighborhoods Where Residents Are Decision Makers who Take Responsibility for the Improvement of their Lives and Surroundings." We Believe that Everyone Can Succeed if They Are Motivated and Have Access to Appropriate Skills, Information and Opportunities.

Our agency is 25+ years old and presently serves over 4,000 community members with our Afterschool & Summer Camp Programs, Adult Education. ( GED and Pre-GED Prep, ESOL, Literacy, Math Tutoring, etc.) and Information and Referrals Services.
