MISSION

We help each young adult structure their life and plan for their individual future in comprehensive, holistic ways. Our members utilize challenges to build stronger, more empowered versions of themselves. We grow like a family, with established members becoming a support for new members.

OUR IMPACT

On average, American parents provide 367 hours of help per year to their adult children (ages 18-34), even when they live away from home. Young adults leaving foster care often do not have this support system, placing them at higher risk for homelessness, unemployment and mental health struggles. At Junket, we aim to fill that gap by providing hands-on mentoring and a community of support that strengthens each member's safety net.

We work with each young adult to craft their individual paths to success. We help them clarify their goals and map out how to attain them across sectors, including education, employment, health, budgeting, family life, driving, saving for big purchases, navigating work and social situations, etc.  Each celebration of success increases the member’s self-esteem, confidence and resiliency to face the next challenge ahead. When our members meet their goals, the impacts reverberate through their families, communities and the greater world beyond.

OUR FUTURE

As Junket expands, we need your help to scale the model we've built and nurtured over the last 15 years. Our support to members is ongoing, offering a safety net that is often unavailable to those who enter directly into adulthood from foster care. Once a member of the Junket family, always a member. Our chosen-family-support model provides a place to belong for those who might otherwise struggle to find their path and place in life.

Our goal is the raise $100,000 to cover our 2024 expansion costs and the first quarter of program costs for 2025. This amount includes an increase in monthly support to $8,500, ensuring sustainable growth for the program. Will you join us in creating a safe, consistent space of belonging and support for young adults after foster care?

FAMILY DINNER 

When you become a monthly donor, you become part of the family. You'll have a seat at our table for the annual family dinner in the spring. This event brings together our members (both past and present), staff, volunteers, board members, and the incredible donors who make our work possible.
