National Safe Haven Alliance

Since 2004, the National Safe Haven Alliance (NSHA) has supported state and US territories' efforts to prevent infanticide and newborn abandonment through education, awareness, and advocacy of the Safe Haven law. NSHA provides direct support to parents in crisis, who may be unwilling or unable to care for their newborn, through the national, 24/7 confidential Safe Haven hotline, 1-888-510-BABY (2229). NSHA provides resources and options for parents, including parenting, temporary placement, adoption, and Safe Haven relinquishment, and comprehensive training programs for Safe Haven providers and state agencies. NSHA's mission to end infant abandonment depends on the active support of communities.
