Who We Are

RSLA is a non-profit organization that offers a retirement sanctuary to animals formerly used in biomedical research. Many research facilities try very hard to retire the animals they think will have a quality life outside of an institution. We applaud their efforts. But many times these animals come with little financial support therefore staff and researchers must raise the money themselves to offer the animals, they have grown so close to, a comfortable retirement.

Your donation and your sacrifice helps feed them, get them excellent veterinary care, gives them various forms of enrichment and assists them in ways that few think about. Most of our animals are in their golden years and as time passes they need new structures to help them move around more comfortably. Our goal is to give them independence with respect and dignity.
