Red Hook Initiative

For over 20 years, Red Hook Initiative (RHI) has stood alongside the residents of the Red Hook Houses—6,500 youth and adults who believe in the power of their own leadership to shape a stronger future.

Every day at RHI, young people discover their potential and learn to lead through our Youth Development & Socio-Emotional Learning Program. They find confidence, community, and purpose, becoming co-creators of their own futures.

Through our College & Career Success Program, young adults chart new paths toward higher education and employment, gaining the tools to build stability and economic mobility.

Through our Community Development Program, residents come together to advocate, organize, and strengthen connections that make Red Hook the resilient, vibrant place we all call home.

RHI believes that social change to overcome systemic inequities begins with empowered youth. In partnership with community adults, we nurture young people in Red Hook to be inspired, resilient and healthy, and to envision themselves as co-creators of their lives, community and society.
