SLEW Cancer Wellness Center

Imagine that you've been diagnosed with
Stage 3 cancer and you are already having trouble making ends meet! There
are endless doctor's appointments and medications for which to pay, confusing forms you need to complete, and the radiation and
chemotherapy are taking its toll. Your body is different, your hair is falling
out, you're exhausted all the time, and you feel more and more depressed. You feel like you're all alone, struggling with this heavy burden. Then, you hear about SLEW Cancer Wellness Center.

SLEW provides emotional and physical support FREE to low income, uninsured, and under-insured women who are going through, and
recovering from, cancer treatment. SLEW increases their access to health
care services they can't afford and couldn't otherwise receive, improving their long term survival and quality of life. SLEW is the only agency of its kind in
Bexar and surrounding counties. SLEW helps hundreds of women
whose chances for cancer survival have been diminished by their inability to
pay, and fills a huge gap in access to care by ensuring these women receive the survivorship services they need.

Who We Are

SLEW Cancer Wellness Center provides survivorship services to low-income, uninsured and under-insured women who have been diagnosed with, or under treatment for, cancer. Services are offered at no cost to our clients. SLEW's goal is to help our clients extend their survival and improve their quality of life.
