For almost three decades, SARA (Society for Animal Rescue and Adoption) has led the fight for the rights of animals in Central Texas, providing a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. 

SARA helps any animal regardless of species, special health needs, or temperament.  

All animals that come to us receive top-notch medical care, quality food and shelter, and a permanent home when outside placement or adoption is not possible. 

SARA has grown into one of the largest sanctuaries in the country, saving countless animals since its creation in 1996, with never fewer than 700 animals in our care.
