Vision

We Run Brownsville (WRB) is a community-based, nonprofit organization that works to improve health outcomes for Black and Brown women by creating a brave space to cultivate their well-being and the well-being of the larger community.

Mission Statement

WRB aims to embolden Black and Brown women living and working in Brownsville to take ownership of their physical, mental, emotional and financial wellness. Through the lens of collective responsibility, WRB promotes “active activism” as a way to build an empathetic support structure in order to better sustain a holistic healthy lifestyle and advance an empowered resistance to historically experienced barriers.

Through the sport of running, WRB cultivates leadership and advances advocacy around issues of equity to lead community transformation from within.
