My why:

I’ve been connected to this ride for as long as I can remember (see little Morgan above). I grew up watching my parents dedicate themselves to this mission, and now I’m proud to say this will be my seventh time participating as a rider. Cancer has shaped my life in many ways; like so many others, my family has felt its impact deeply. My mom has fought cancer since I was 3 years old, my grandfather lost his battle when I was 2, and I’ve watched other family members and friends battle their way through their own journeys, some victorious, some heartbreaking.

From a young age, I learned the importance of standing up for causes that matter. Watching my parents give so much of themselves each year taught me the value of fighting for others... it is truly unexplainably important. To now follow in their footsteps as a rider is incredibly meaningful to me and I don't accept that responsibility lightly. Every year feels different, carries new emotions, new faces, new stories but every mile leaves a permanent mark on me, my teammates, and the community we ride for.

We ride in honor, in memory, and most importantly in hope for others. We ride for friends, family, and strangers whose names cover our jerseys and sleeves, whose stories live in our hearts, whose memories we hold so close, who sit waiting for treatment, who endure chemo, and for those who we’ve lost too soon.

Recently, I had a friend say, almost matter-of-factly, that cancer is inevitable, that it’s only a matter of time or luck before we all face it or lose to it. But to that, I say.. think again. That’s not the way I see it, and because of this ride, it never will be. I’ve witnessed firsthand that every moment counts, every prayer is a battle cry, that every effort makes a difference. That every cent we raise, goes to making sure that cancer will never become an unavoidable fate or immediate death sentence - thats the reality I choose to see.

That’s why I ride. That’s why I train. That’s why I fight, because no one should have to face this disease without hope, without support, without a community standing beside them. And with a community like C3 fighting back so fiercely, cancer will never feel inevitable in my eyes.

And to anyone who sees it differently, I challenge them to join us, to walk alongside us, to ride with us. Because when you witness the power of this community, it’s impossible not to believe in the fight.

People often say we’re crazy for taking on this challenge, but I love being apart of something so impactful to someone's everyday life, it's such a sweet reminder to how fleeting each day is. Every hard climb, every early morning, every sore muscle reminds me: this struggle is temporary. It’s a choice I make, a fight I’ve chosen to join. And with every pedal stroke, I remember those who don’t get to choose their battle or circumstance.

This year, I’ve set a goal to raise $5,000+ to support this incredible cause. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference and I’d be so grateful for your support.

I’ll also be launching a t-shirt fundraiser soon, stay tuned for details on my Facebook page!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support truly means more than words can express.

Cancer is not inevitable -  together, we are rewriting that story.

Meet My Team!

We are one of multiple teams who go on the ride each year, and most teams get switched up year to year but our team has had the privilege of staying together year after year. Ron, Robin, Martha Laura, Milt, and Jim are family to me and through silliness, tears, hugs, and lots of laughs, we still manage find time to ride our bikes to Maine :))
