Well, here I go…AGAIN!  Can you believe it?  It still seems odd that, yes, here I am headed across continents and the ocean to once again serve with Bread of Life Mission!  I am so excited!

Why am I going?  This hasn’t changed from last year when I went.   The call is still there to be involved in Bread of Life Mission and go where He calls me.  He has called me back to that land.   The desire to obey the Lord out of my love for Him and to impact a lost and dying world.  To serve as Jesus did when He came (Matthew 20:28), to serve where He would have me serve.   Whether it is here in the U.S. on behalf of Bread of Life Mission or overseas in Turkana, Kenya.

What will we be doing?  This year will be a little different.  I am co-leading a small team with Nikki, a team member from last year.  This is a trip opened up for sponsors to meet and spend time with the child/children they sponsor as children are off from school during this time.   We will be assisting Mel the missionary with assembling the gift back packs.  The gifts are from their sponsors.  All money is spent in country and the gifts will include: an outfit and shoes that we will get to help them pick out, along with their school supplies for the year, a sweet treat “sweeties” and a few small fun items.    Bread of Life is chartering new territory in the Turkanan region of Urum in the village of Natelo along the border of Kenya and Uganda for the Gospel of Jesus.  They are an unreached people group.  Bread of Life received permission in February from local government officials and the tribal chief to start a school for pre-k children.  Part of our team will have the opportunity during the week to travel to this village.  There is a pastor and his family who will be pioneering this new church plant along with a recent graduate from the missionary training school who will be assisting in teaching/training the children.

How can you help?  There are still kids waiting for sponsorship so they can attend school at Bread of Life (see website below for details).  The cost is $45 per month and includes: a quality education, (2) meals a day, basic healthcare, their initial uniform, and discipleship from Bread of Life staff.  Sponsor a missionary (visit the website).  Or you can sponsor me to go this year in 2024, if the Lord leads in that direction.  PRAY…the most important support of all.  Please pray for the team of us going, for good health, all the details and that we would be a blessing and the fragrance of Jesus when we are there.  Please make checks payable to Bread of Life Mission (my name in the memo).  You can Venmo the funds to Bread of Life Mission, give cash or direct on my Fundraising Page.  You can email me at loralinmiller@gmail.com and I will assist you with support options!
