America250 Idaho Revolutionary Spuds on Tour

As America prepares to celebrate the 250th, Idaho is marking this moment with something truly special: THE REVOLUTIONARY SPUDS.

Using Spuddy Buddy - the official mascot of the Idaho Potato Commission - State Treasurer Julie Ellsworth created the Revolutionary Spuds, gave each a unique personality, and handcrafted their costumes to make history fun, approachable, and unforgettable for Idahoans of all ages.

Led by the America250 in Idaho Ambassadors, each Revolutionary Spud is an official America250 in Idaho Ambassador and visits community events throughout the state to share the Ambassador Song and to collect signatures for the historic Capitol Rotunda Declaration of Independence. Each Spud has a written story narrating the life of Revolutionary person it was patterned after. These stories will be made available to Idaho school children and the public.
