Dear Family and Friends,

I am Jamison Lavaughn Powell-Massey, a senior at David W Butler High School. I am participating in the Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte and the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.

The Beautillion is used as a vehicle to raise funds for scholarships, as well as build character, enhance positive moral and social growth, and leadership skills of young men moving into young adulthood. To be involved in this organization is a prestigious affair, and I feel honored to have been recommended, and selected to participate in the program which will convene on May 2,2027.

 As a high school student, I am an honors student athlete taking advanced placement (AP) classes and I am dual enrolled at Central Piedmont Community College. This extended learning experience will allow me to enter a 4 year college with over 18 credit hours earned. 

While attending Butler High School, I have served in numerous leadership roles. I served as the Student Athlete Director under AD Chris Satterfield during my freshman year. I’ve also participated in the Make-A-Wish parade and tug-of-war team, as well as the Turn Against Violence basketball tournament. My additional high school activities have included:

• Member of both Junior Varsity and Varsity football team (2023-present)
• Member of Butler Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC) (2023-present) and currently elected to serve as the 26-27 Community & Internal Relationships Outreach coordinator 
• Member of the CMS Student Athletic Advisory Council (SAAC)  (2024-present) 
• Newly selected member of BHS Sources of Strength Council  (2026-present)
• Newly selected member of Emerging Leaders Program with the Two-Six Project (2026-present)
•  Member of Kappa League/Guide Right Program (2024-2026)
• Member of Thomas Davis Leadership Defending Dreams program (2022-2025)
• Volunteer at  Sankofa Kuumba Cultural Arts Consortium Summer Program

I plan to study Sports Communications upon entering college and furthering my educational studies to become a Sports Broadcaster. Your gift will enable me to earn a scholarship and assist in financing my education. Any and all assistance is greatly appreciated.

The deadline for the donation is March 31st, 2027 for ads and patrons to be listed in the souvenir booklet. April 16th, 2027  is the deadline for all donations.
