Beau Shawn Kennedy II

Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Shawn Kennedy, and I am currently a senior at Cannon School in Concord, North Carolina. I am honored to participate in the Kappa Beautillion Militaire Scholarship Program, sponsored by the Kappa Foundation of Charlotte and the Charlotte Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. The program will culminate in April 2027.

The Beautillion Militaire is designed to provide scholarship opportunities while helping young men develop character, leadership, positive values, and the skills needed to transition into young adulthood. I am grateful to have been recommended and selected to participate in this prestigious program, and I am excited for the opportunity to grow through this experience.

Throughout high school, I have worked to challenge myself both academically and personally. I am a scholar-athlete maintaining a 3.8+ GPA while competing in three sports for the past three consecutive years. I have also been an active member of my school’s Black Affinity Club for the past three years and currently serve as President for the 2026–2027 school year.

Some of my other activities, honors, and accomplishments include:

• Senior Ambassador for Meck Invest’s Impact Camp
• Youth Mentor with the Charlotte Sports and Mentoring Program
• Best Concept Award at SPIKE’ Studios’ Architecture Camp at Georgia Tech (2026)
• First Place Presentation Award at A&T’s Willie A. Deese COBE Pre-College Business Summer Camp (2025), where I was a two-year participant

After graduation, I plan to attend Morehouse College and major in Real Estate. My long-term goal is to become a large-scale real estate developer and use my career to make a positive impact in the affordable housing community. I hope to create opportunities that allow more families to have access to quality, affordable housing.
