Valerie and Theo Costa Rica Mission Trip

June 27th - July 5th, Theo and Valerie are going to Costa Rica to assist a ministry called Corner of Love. Corner of Love is a growing international mission that has been serving Nicaraguans since 1992. Today they care for refugees in Costa Rica, Colombia, Panama, Mexico, Honduras, the United States, and elsewhere, focusing on the needs of displaced families primarily from Venezuela and Nicaragua. They serve more than 30,000 refugees annually by providing services through:

• Mobile Medical, Dental, and Optical Clinics
• Refugee Relief Centers in Latin America
• Home Visitation to Vulnerable Families
• Nutrition and Education Programs

While in Costa Rica with our Maple Valley Church team (12 people) we will help distribute medical, nutritional, and relief items to refugees and help with any other projects needed. Since medical care is a focus of COL Valerie (an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) will be hosting a lactation clinic while there; helping mothers and babies.

We are certain Theo will spend lots of time playing soccer with kids and helping with any projects that are necessary. We are expecting this to be a real growth experience for Theo. He's 14 now; compassionate and adventurous. Theo says, "Its going to be amazing seeing how the Lord reaches the refugees and our team while we are there. I'm beyond excited to see what the culture and people are like."

We also both bring with us musical skills and are always ready to minister or entertain through music if the opportunity arises.

Thank you so much for considering supporting us on this trip!  By supporting us through Corner of Love your donation will be 100% tax deductible. The $3,500 we need to raise will cover the costs of COL hosting us as well as some of their operating costs and help with the supplies needed for our work with refugees. We are covering our plane ticket costs ourselves.

We are looking forward to meeting needs while also learning a lot from those in difficult situations. We are excited for what God wants to do in and through us!
