The H.T. Pott is the Museum's largest artifact and one of the only water vessels in our care. Built in 1933 by the St. Louis Shipbuilding & Steel Company, it was the first all-welded steel hull towboat to operate on the Missouri River. The H.T. Pott transported barges in the Kansas City, MO, area until its retirement. In 1986, the Museum welcomed this boat to our campus where it was restored and formally rechristened in 1989.

Restoration efforts include wood restoration, fence repair and replacement, window replacement, painting, and updated signage.
