Rick & Brooke's Downtowner's Campaign

When Brooke and I moved to Lancaster, PA from Boston, I didn't know a soul other than Brooke, the dogs, and my lovely in-laws Blake & Fred. I was blessed to meet Ellen Berfond, who introduced me to the Lancaster Downtowners as a way to get involved and give back.  

The Downtowners help older Lancastrians remain in their homes by offering everything from help with household tasks to rides and support with medical appointments.  I've enjoyed meeting and helping a tremendous number of people, and have gotten involved by chairing their Finance Committee. This mission is especially poignant to me because I'm now far from my own mother, who is aging in pace in Wolfeboro, NH with help from her own supportive community. 

Membership dues cover less than 1/2 of the Downtowner's budget, with the rest made up of fundraising activities like this one. Please join me in donating whatever you can to support the mission. Our goal for 2026 is to raise $17,000. This year a generous patron is offering up to $3,000 in matching funds, so your dollar can go twice as far (just like the dogs)!
