What Is the Handleman Walk for Autism?

The WALK is a fun family event with:  Live music, food, moon bouncing, face and pumpkin painting, balloon creations, carnival games, crafts, a silent auction and more in a beautiful garden on Rutgers Campus.  The event raises funds for children and adults with autism and celebrates the life’s work of autism pioneer Dr. Jan Handleman (1951-2008).  It is both a fundraiser and a fun family day. We hope you will support us and join us at the Walk.

All are welcome and all get a shirt for participation!

So What Is DOORS?

DOORS is a parent-run organization associated with the highly esteemed Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center in New Brunswick, NJ. DOORS provides resources to help children and adults with autism thrive and grow including: Access to quality care from professionals, recreational opportunities to have fun with peers and skill building programs to maximize independence.

Although these programs are essential to the students of the DDDC, they are often not covered by traditional funding. That's where you can help - by supporting the Handleman Walk for Autism, you are supporting these programs at the DDDC. All donations go to the DDDC, a 501(c)3 organization.

Thanks for donating and hope to see you at the Walk!
