Why should you contribute towards a PACDC charity bib for the Philly 10K? Because PACDC is the premier city-wide organization working to end vacancy and blight in our neighborhoods, ensure that every Philadelphian has a safe, affordable place to call home, and strengthen our neighborhoods’ economies.

PACDC is advancing an Equitable Development Policy Platform and educating candidates for Mayor and City Council to capitalize on the City’s current growth in a way that is inclusive of all Philadelphians and all of our neighborhoods.

  • PACDC and our allies won passage of the historic Philly Land Bank legislation in 2013 that will be a key tool in getting vacant, blighted properties back into use for homes, businesses and green space.
  • PACDC led campaigns to create and expand funding for the Philadelphia Housing Trust Fund, which has helped 20,000 households gain a safe, affordable place to live since 2005.
  • PACDC advocated successfully for the creation and expansion of the CDC tax credit program, which provides vital funding for the work of CDCs to improve the economic conditions of our neighborhoods, help small businesses survive and thrive, and provide jobs.
  • PACDC offers top-notch training and technical assistance to neighborhood CDCs and other community development practitioners through our Community Development Leadership Institute.

PACDC represents and serves more than 115 members, including 50 CDCs working hard to advance Equitable Development in our neighborhoods, and reverse the decades of loss of population, jobs and resources from our neighborhoods. We’re making big progress, but far too much work remains.

So if you love Philadelphia’s neighborhoods – and the people that live and work in them – donate towards a PACDC charity bib for the Philly 10K today!
