Clark students will be participating in our 1st ever READATHON during the month of May. READATHON is the PTA’s second biggest fundraiser of the year; money raised is for our general budget, which funds all of our teacher grants, events and programs. One of the best advantages of the READTHON, is that it allows all of the money collected to stay at Clark! It also provides a better tax deduction incentive for donors.
PTA Support is Critical for Clark Educational Programs
Donations to the Clark PTA are necessary to fund key curriculum related initiatives and every student’s educational experience. The Clark PTA is committed to bringing fun and exciting, high quality educational programs and opportunities to our school. This year, the Clark PTA is spending over $100,000 to support students and staff at Clark. Our READATHON goal is $10,000. Some of the ways this money is used are:
· Academic grants directly to Clark teachers and staff for supplement classroom materials, supplies and experiences
· School-wide assemblies, author visit, new library books, and staff appreciation
· Educational and community building events, such as Science Fair, Gingerbread Social, and Bingo Night
· Academic enrichment programs, including Art Docents, Reflections, and After-School Enrichment
· Financial aid for students in need for field trips, school supplies, and even summer school
Every student who participates in the fundraiser will receive an entry to win one of our great prizes, and for every hour they read, they will earn an additional entry. Prizes include one of SIX Fire 7 Tablets with Alexa, LEGO sets, art kits and more!
Every student who brings in a $5 or more in pledges will earn an $8 coupon for a single book for the May 29-June 1 book fair. (Coupons are not eligible for BOGO.)
Students can either ask friends and family to support them with a flat donation or they can choose to record their reading minutes and receive pledges based on each 20-minute increment that a student completes.
