This year, the Flora Apple Queen Pageant and it's 72 participants will be raising funds on behalf of the NextGen commUNITY Foundation as well as it's various causes supported throughout the Flora and surrounding communities.

Since it's establishment in 2016, and what began as a small local pageant at our local town theatre designed to showcase girls age 5-18 inside our own community, the Flora Apple Queen Pageant has grown into a program providing support to over 75 annual participants age 5-21.  However, in 2021, the Executive Board elected to rebrand FAQP, Inc. by forming the NextGen commUNITY Foundation with a purpose to expand into providing activities and benefits to children of all ages within the Flora and surrounding communities.

Hosting local events such as an Easter Egg Hunt at Charley Brown Park that brought nearly 3,000 people from all across the state, or Santa at Library Park with over 500 local residents attending each night are great examples of NextGen's ability to reinvest our time and energy back into making Flora a better place, all the while teaching our youth the core foundational principles that we stand for of building character, empowering youth, and serving our community.

Our march towards expanding our program offerings to boys and girls of all ages, and eventually to adults and seniors as well, can't be done without a foundational base...a place to call home.  And that's why we need your help.  Our goal is to fill an 1,800 square foot meeting and activity room full of tables and chairs where we can host guest speakers, seminars, and work on important life skills lacking in our public education system.  Envision a space where kids can relax after a tough day of school, play a game of air hockey or pool with their friends, talk to a life coach about struggles with bullying, or setup a Call of Duty tournament up in the gaming loft.  On weekends, our program participants can host Bibbity Bobbity Boutiques for young girls or Marvel Superhero Activities for young boys to teach them the value of giving back to the next generation of our leaders in this community.  Young entrepreneurs can learn about setting up their own businesses to become our community's next electricians, plumbers, cosmetologists or even culinary artists.  The opportunities are truly endless, but it all starts with a vision and a willingness to lend a hand.

So we're asking for your help.  Help us build a better future for our hometown and in the end, our community will benefit by producing children with full hearts who understand the meaning of giving back because someone once gave to them.

Thank you for your consideration in supporting the Flora Apple Queen Pageant system and this year's beneficiary, the NextGen commUNITY Foundation.
