2022 Honorary Walk Chairs, the Hare FamilyLife is better when we walk together! Join the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi (DFM) and Honorary chairs, the Hare family, on Sunday, October 1, 2023 for Mississippi's Walk for Diabetes- Jackson at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance (I-220 Watkins Drive exit).

Registration starts at 1 pm, with the walk and ribbon cutting at 2 pm. We will have a one-mile "Family Fun" walk and a 3.1 mile/5K route.

Walk 2023 will have fun festivities for the whole family! Walk, stroll, or roll with the DFM and help support those you love with diabetes by creating teams of families, friends, classmates, sport teams, Sunday school classes, and co-workers to walk in their honor! Individual walkers are also welcome as well as Virtual walkers/teams!**

Thanks to the generosity of our friends-friends like you- we were able to continue our mission to improve the lives of children and adults living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes during the recent COVID crisis. Your support enabled us to care for so many more Mississippians living with diabetes and provide crucial information on diabetes as it relates to the pandemic.

Many Mississippian kids and adults count on the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi for support. The DFM provides newly diagnosed children with "We Care 2" backpacks filled with information, supplies and our cuddly toy puppy mascot, "Sugar." Families were also able to reconnect this past year at Camp Kandu, our signature camp for kids with diabetes and their families!

Through our Diabetes On Call (DOC) program, adults with diabetes receive information and referrals to help manage their diabetes. The DFM also sends "Sweet Subject" emergency boxes to daycare and schools to help care for students with diabetes, and assists families struggling with the new economic realities with life-sustaining medications and supplies. Our patient-assistance requests have soared, and we anticipate that they will continue to rise as Americans start to get back on their feet after the pandemic.

Every dollar we raise stays in Mississippi, so your donations are truly a blessing to our state’s entire population with diabetes. Sign up today to make a difference in the lives of those you love! To register, call the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi at 601-957-7878 or visit msdiabetes.org.

The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi will be following all CDC guidelines.

Participants who would feel more comfortable doing a virtual fundraiser with family and friends are encouraged to do so.
