Our Story:

In 2016, The Underground began the process of bringing church leadership together in order to bring transitional housing to aged-out youth and young adult victims of trafficking. This decision resulted from our state and non-profit
partners notifying us that there was a need in CT for this resource.

As we researched transitional housing, we began to learn that additional support was needed for victims of trafficking upon rescue.  Through our collaboration with outreach agencies, Homeland Security and Amirah NE, we recognized the importance of providing emergency housing for rescued victims, where all of their daily needs would be met and where referral sources had time to assist victims with the next steps in a pathway to care.  As Families United heard of this critical need, they raised their hands to help!

Together FUSE and The Underground worked with partners to find the right location for safe, emergency beds in Connecticut; and FUSE has been hard at work in establishing the "Wellspring" home.   The Underground is committed to assisting Wellspring in establishing its services and has bridged key partners to this cause.   This collaboration has resulted in the first Tier-1 home in CT!

Families United looks forward to expanding their services to include safe housing for trafficking victims in Connecticut and will receive referrals as on November 15, 2019.   The Underground looks forward to our continued partnership with Families United, and we welcome and are grateful to FUSE for joining the anti-trafficking movement.

We want to invite you to support this cause and for learning about how you can be part of eradicating trafficking in Connecticut.  Thank you for supporting a safe space for survivors to come, rest and allow time for each woman to discover a pathway of care - hope, healing, and restoration.
