Every year, COPE offers families the chance to walk and raise money in honor of their loved ones who have passed. The intimate nature of our walk, with lots of hugs and often tears, make it an opportunity for our families to feel connected to each other and to COPE. However, in the face of the COVID pandemic, COPE wants to insure the safety and health of our community members.  We came to the consensus that for this year, the COPE walk will be the biggest and best one we have ever had……and that it would be a virtual one.

Each person can fundraise and walk in their own way.  Create your own walking plan - get creative!

One idea:

You can start your own team fundraising page here to share with your friends, family and others - and invite them to join you.  For example...

For each mile you walk, run, jog, dog walk or bike during the month of September and October please donate $1, $5 or $10 to support COPE families.

50 miles = $50/$250/$500 to support families
100 miles = $100/$500/$1000 to support families.
250 miles = $250/$1250/$250 to support famlies...
And onward and upward.
Track your miles with your Fitibit or other device or join our Strava group.

Get it? Got it? Let's get moving!

Be sure to check this page as well as our social media pages for updates.

Stay connected.  You are not alone.

COPE is a grief and healing organization helping parents and families living with the loss of a child. Founded by parents who have lost a child, our goal is to provide a safety net for other families and to help those families find hope.

COPE offers professionally-led support groups, a grief support phone line, and monthly healing workshops including yoga, meditation, Reiki, art, movement, music, writing and journaling.

COPE has grown to support children and teens who have lost a loved one, particularly through COPE’s Camp Erin® NYC, a free summer weekend experience to support kids and parents who are grieving.

We have enhanced our bereavement services to youth and professionals in low-resourced communities. Our train-the-trainer model and child and youth focused coping skills groups provide needed care to families living in high risk neighborhoods.

Traumatic and complicated grief takes a physical and emotional toll on survivors. Our COPE families learn they are not alone and gain tools that incorporate healthy coping mechanisms into their bereavement process.

Parents and children grow and heal as they learn to live with their devastating loss.
