In 2016, the Flora Apple Queen Pageant was founded with the purpose of building character and promoting community service for girls age 5-21 within the Flora School District. Each year, the reigning Queens of each division select a charitable cause which is near and dear to their hearts. The contestants within that division will then rally behind the cause by raising money for each particular group chosen. On pageant night, a check presentation will take place featuring each beneficiary organization on behalf of the entire Flora Apple Queen Pageant System. The top fundraisers for each division are recognized and given a Heart Award for their ability to display compassion for others as well as their hard work in raising funds to help those in need.
