We are the Novice Boys, the Novice Girls, the Varsity Boys and Varsity Girls squads of the Austin Rowing Club.

Rowing is the single best low-impact, total-body, power endurance sport. Whether you’re an experienced rower, or brand new to the sport, Austin Rowing Club allows you to be a part of a team that is welcoming to all types of people.

Like most sports, however, Rowing is expensive.  We train 5-6 days a week all year long to so we can compete against other teams from all over the country. Our regattas are few and far between, but with your help they could be many and much more frequent! Austin, TX only hosts few races a year, so we have to travel to other cities such as Chattanooga, Boston, Florida, and San Diego to compete. Not all rowers can afford the expense of traveling that far, so as a team we want to help by creating a scholarship program.

The Austin Rowing Club’s Junior Program is holding our second annual  24-hour erg-a thon on December 5th—6th 2015 to raise money for the program and to support our scholarship program.  During the Erg-A-Thon, each of us will take a turn rowing (“erg”ing) on one of our rowing machines (ergs) over a 24-hour timeframe.

Each rower is responsible to raising a minimum of $225. Please consider supporting us as we make this sport assessible to everyone who wants to be involved.
