Our PostSession program is about giving our students transformative educational experiences that will inspire them to strive for success in college and leadership.  Students participate in three weeks of exploratory and project-based learning in the Arts or Physical Education.  In the past students have had opportunities like:

  •   -A weeklong backpacking trip in the forest of Humboldt while visiting and learning from indigenous community leader
  •   -Three weeks of off-site immersion art classes to practice drawing classic art work at bay area museums like the SFMOMA, De Young, and Legion of Honor
  •   -Learning to sail small and Large boat on Lake Merritt and the San Francisco Bay.

PostSession is a space where students get to learn while getting out of their comfort zone, building relationships, and developing as leaders.

We are asking our community to be the village that raises a child.   ARISE needs your help to prepare our students to be successful in college and the world.  Together we can build a wave of educated young leaders that will create ripples of positive change in our Fruitvale and Oakland communities.
