2020 Mission Possible 5K

The 2020 Mission Possible 5K Event is here!  This year the event is virtual like so much else.  Join us in honoring and glorifying God as we work to meet a variety of needs in the community and beyond by giving of your time, energy and resources. We will have two aspects to the event and, yes, we still want you to run.

1. Participants will use the Map My Run App to record their walk/run times and routes.  Awards will be given for age and gender categories as has been done in past years.  Registration cost is $15 for walkers and $25 for runners.  To pay your registration fee, choose one of the fundraising teams to make your payment to.  For additional rules and guidelines, visit: Beacon Center Virtual Run Page

2. New this year is the Race to 5K online fundraising event.  Teams will be formed and will compete to see who can raise $5,000 first and who can raise the most overall.  There will also be team awards for who can raise the most from businesses and who can raise the highest number of individual donors.  To create a team, click the Join this Event Button above and select the option to Create a Team or join an existing team. Team members that donate $10 will receive a Mission Possible face mask.

The Beacon Center is the community outreach ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church. God has grown the outreach and community service far beyond the size of Lighthouse. God always does what only God can do, using the weak or small things of this world to show His power and might. 

The ministries of the Beacon Center Mission are varied.  Some of them include:

• Beacon Center Gym - Home gym for games and practices for dozens of local sports teams.
• Food Pantry - Our food pantry has provided over 1 million meals to families in the St. George community.  
• Shared Blessings Ministry - Provides clothing, furniture, household goods, appliances, medical devices and much more at no cost to members of the community.
• Mission Quilters -Provides 60 to 100 quilts a year donated to VA Hospitals, Nursing Homes, and Pregnancy Centers.
• Community Center - The Beacon Center and Lighthouse are used for a number of community and civic functions including voting, city court, city council and committee meetings, and community events such as the Kawnsas Fest.
