Black & Pink National is excited to be participating in #Give828, a national day of giving focused specifically on supporting Black-led and Black-benefitting organizations.

Give 8/28 takes place during Black Philanthropy Month and commemorates multiple critical historical landmarks in Black Americans march toward freedom. It comes at a time where more than ever, we need investment in Black communities. We’ve seen first hand the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on Black communities, as well as inflation and social injustice.

At Black & Pink National, we center the leadership and needs of Black women and queer and trans folks. A majority of our staff are Black, and all of our staff are system-impacted and LGBTQIA2S+

Additionally, a majority (70%) of the people we serve through our community-based programming are Black trans women - Because we understand that by amplifying and centering the needs of those most impacted by oppressive systems (i.e. Black trans women) we are able to inherently address the needs of all system-impacted people. We are committed to amplifying the voices, experiences, and leadership of people impacted by incarceration and HIV/AIDS.

Everything we do at Black & Pink is rooted in racial justice and our vision of a world where all Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color have access to safety, health, and joy. Racial justice is not only our strategic guiding point and one of the lenses through which we understand we will achieve our vision, it is also our daily practice.

We are a Black-led, woman-led, queer-led organization in the Midwest. Funding barriers have always been present for our work, given who we serve and the fact that leadership is representative of our members. We happen to be one of a few service organizations who serve our members and one of the only LGBTQIA2S+ service organization providing service delivery on a national scale.Your support ensures that our vital, Black-led work can continue for years to come.
