Mittens for Detroit presents a fun, free, flexible, family-friendly, virtual golf fundraiser for the rest of us...
The 2nd Annual Bogeypalooza for Mittens
July 7th through August 18th!
The perfect event for players of all ages and levels! It gives you all of the control and choices... you can play 9 or 18 holes, mini golf, disc golf, virtual golf, even arcade golf! Play when, where, and with whom you want. You choose the course, the time, the frequency! Golf in the summer and make a difference for kids this winter, turning your play into purpose. Easy, peasy!
Whether you're a scratch golfer or someone who only picks up a club for the occasional putt-putt outing, Bogeypalooza for Mittens blends the joy of golf with the spirit of giving, ensuring that even the most unpolished swings have a meaningful impact. The beauty of this fundraiser lies in its inclusivity, the fun, and knowing that you are helping kids this winter.
Participants play at their own pace and in any manner of golf, making it remarkably accessible and adaptable to your schedule and preferences. The event emphasizes the importance of having fun while contributing to the community, transforming every bogey into an opportunity to bring warmth to deserving hands during the colder months.
This is a wonderful opportunity for kids to get involved and make a difference. As part of our annual Summer of Glove Junior Philanthropist activities, Bogeypalooza for Mittens offers your kids a fun way to help other kids in the community. Kids 3-18 years old who participate will receive a special Kids Helping Kids certificate of appreciation.
So... How does it work?
It's simple. The worse you play, the better it is for the kids in Detroit this winter! The winners are the kids who will receive new, warm, durable mittens and gloves... because of you.
Keep track of the bogeys you score (the strokes over par for the hole) and make a donation of a minimum of $1 per bogey per round. Great for individuals, teams, families, parties, reunions, work teams, leagues...

1. Register to be a participant, start a fundraising team, join a team, or donate solo:
Go to the top of this page and click the Join This Event button You can create your own fundraising team, join an existing team, or go solo. Up to you! Note: A fundraising team does not necessarily mean that the team will have an event or golf together. The fundraising team leader will let you know any specifics about your new team!

We've added CHALLENGES! this year to add to your fun! We'll be scoring points for how many challenges and in what way you participate... and everyone is guaranteed a little prize. We'll add more info on this as the weeks pass.

About Mittens for Detroit:
Mittens for Detroit is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that collects, purchases, and distributes new mittens and gloves to children, teens, and adults in need in Detroit, Michigan, and other nearby underserved cities. Since 2010, more than 335,000 pairs have been collected and distributed. 100 Community Collection Partners host public and private efforts that bring in about 23,000 pairs a year. Our 100 Distribution Partners put pairs on hands at schools, shelters, homeless programs, veterans' group, senior centers, medical facilities, and other programs that serve those in need. Volunteers join The Big Sort, a series of engagements held in our office by Campus Martius in Downtown Detroit, where pairs are sorted and prepared for distribution.
This is an excellent example of the community coming together to provide warmth for those who would otherwise be braving the cold winter with cold hands.
