Sometimes writers need a whole day to give their writing some much needed attention, and Write-A-Thon Detroit is the perfect cause to do it. Similar to dance-a-thons, jump-a-thons and other endurance-based events, participants in Write-A-Thon Detroit are challenged to raise money on behalf of The Tuxedo Project, a community-based literary center on the west side of Detroit, by asking their friends and family to sponsor their writing practice for a day.
Write-A-Thon Detroit takes place November 2, 2019 -- just in time for National Novel Writing Month! -- and we expect writers to participate from all over the Detroit Metro Area. Use the day to generate new material or finally dig into research. Tackle those revisions or even click 'send' to submit your finished pieces for publication. Whatever your goals (and whatever your genre or experience level), you can trust that you’re in good company to give your writing whatever it needs that day.
Minimum amount for entry is $125. The day includes:

Your participation in Write-A-Thon will provide writers space and support as they put words on the page and will further the mission of The Tuxedo Project to provide high quality reading and creative writing programs to marginalized communities.
