The great commission is a command to plant churches among every people group in the world. While this mission has not yet been completed, obedience to the great commission also includes local churches coming alongside other local churches in an effort to support them as they seek to grow and reach the communities around them. This is what we will be doing in our short-term trip to Mexico in the summer of 2018 .
We will be partnering with 2 local pastors . The first pastor we will be coming alongside is engaged in an outreach to the elderly population. Unlike in America, if the elderly are not cared for by their families, they are left to fend for themselves financially, physically, and emotionally. The local pastor that we will be working with has a ministry that feeds, clothes, provides exercise, games, love, support, and much more to this community. We are excited to be able to work with him and show love to these men and women.
The second pastor we will be working with has asked that we spend a week teaching a biblical view of marriage to married couples from his congregation and the larger community. We are honored that he would trust us with the responsibility of proclaiming God's Words to his flock, especially something as important as marriages, which as Ephesians 5:32 tells us is a direct reflection of the relationship Christ has to His church.
