Lake Oswego Community Rowing is a volunteer-run, non-profit organization that relies on the support and participation of its rowers, members, families and the community.
This year, on Saturday November 14th our team is setting a record by rowing 500,000 meters on our "ergs" (or ergometer, indoor rowing machines) as a part of our 2015/2016 ergathon fundraiser. We are raising funds to support their efforts and their dedication to this team.
Unlike other High School sports, rowing is very expensive with very expensive equipment. For those who are unaware, an 8 person racing shell may cost $25-45,000 while a 4 person shell may cost anywhere from $15-30,000.
While we are very excited that for the very first time our team has over 100 rowers, we find that we simply do not have the equipment we need for this many rowers.
We have a goal to raise an unprecidented $65,000 this year which will be used to purchase TWO BRAND NEW EIGHTS! (8 person racing shells)
With your support, we can make this happen. We appreciate every dollar, thank you so much for your help.
