Summer should be a time to relax but for far too many kids and families, summer only exacerbates food insecurity in our communities. Nationwide, nearly 22 million children count on school provided meals. Fewer than 1 in 6 have access to summer meal programs. In Washington state, food insecurity will affect 400,000 students this summer.
Food Frenzy is a creative competition to help feed our neighbors facing hunger. For two action-packed weeks in mid-July, businesses and community groups collect food donations, volunteer at the Hunger Solution Center, and host fundraisers that benefit Food Lifeline.
Food Frenzy is a great way to have some much-needed fun with your friends, family, and coworkers while giving back to the community.
When kids are away from school, many lose access to free meals, putting a strain on budgets already stretched thin. Through your support, we're able to get nutritious food into the communities that need it most, helping to relieve some of the financial burden and stress faced by many families this time of year. Your support of Food Frenzy keeps meals on the table for our neighbors—you are helping us mitigate the impact of childhood hunger so kids can learn, grow and thrive.
Join the efforts of these participating companies to raise funds, raise awareness and volunteer for Food Lifeline.
